Yes, I tried using BIN. But it was giving problem. Actually my Client does not want to run any script on UNIX solaris. Thats the main problem for me.
Do you have any other trick?

I tried these above mentioned commands, but
1. Spaces will not be removed at the end. and
2. As i have SWIFT messages in file, some ... characters are getting replaced by boxes. So i am not getting exactly the FTPed file in ASCII at the remote server.

I was able to rename the file in the same directory, so i think it os as good as creating the new file... but may be i will cross check again.
