Hi,
I have a very strange problem where I hope you have the/an answer. Let me first explain something.
Months ago I created a mailbox called "maildump". This mailbox was intended for people who left the company. All emails for these people were forwarded to this mailbox. If needed, one could...
Hi,
Check the DNS settings of the VPN-server. Probably that is being pushed to the client and should not be valid automatically. We had the same problem. Put in at least 1 public DNS - server.
Hope you have succes..
Hi flstffatboy,
The problem in doing it with SQL-server is that it has to commit record for record. That slows down enormously. That is why the intelligence should be @ oracle..
We are doing it right now with MS SQL DTS...
Thank you for responding however. I appreciate it.

Willem
Hi,
I have been surfing for three days on the internet now to search for answers. I hope, with this post, that someone can give me an answer.
Problem:
I need to connect our tru64 5.1A Oracle 8.1.7 database to a SQL 2000 database. I have looking at iodbc.org and unixodbc.org but could not find...
Hi,
I have a question. First let me tell you that I am a newbe in this matter, but I'll try to make things clear anyway.
People asked me to send certain data to them (in a mail) at the moment a field in a table changes. This mail should contain certain data on what exactly has changed on that...
Hi,
I have done a lot of surfing on pop3 etc. but did not find a solution. Maybe one of you guys can help me out.
Situation is as follows:
On a daily base I receive mail with a csv-attachment in it which I want to import in a sql-server. Therefore I have to download the mail, put the csv-file...
As a reaction to THEFLETCH, I tried to search loads of stuff on the Nortel-site. Sometimes I had to register on all kinds of third-party sites to get access and even after that it did not work. I think the Nortel-site is not very user-friendly for an end-user to find solutions. I'd rather search...
Hi all,
I have installed Mandrake 9 with sendmail. I have configured sendmail up to a level where I can send mail. But... many mail is being rejected because the other malserver cannot verify the domain-name. I looked up why this was possible and found out that i was sending mail with the...
Hi,
Excuse my french but I am a bit of a starter in the Meridian-systems. However, I have a question. We just got a fax-server installed. We attached 4 S0-busses to that fax-server. If we send a fax to one of the s0-numbers, the fax handles it very good. Since we must use more than 4...
Dear all,
Thanx for answering so massive ;-) . Finally we got the answer from NAI. It appears to be a bug for which we received a hotfix.
Processor has calmed down now..
Hello,
We are running Groupshield 6.0 on a W2k server with Exchange 2000. Some days the rpcserver.exe takes up almost a full 100% of the processor capacity. users are not able to access their mailboxes. When I stop the "On-access scanning", the RPCSERVER.EXE goes back to a normal...
No, retrieving the 3 million records with odbc is faster than using the sqlplus-copy command. With DBlink, as far as I can guess, should be faster.
Regards,
Willem
I use DTS for that. I simply create a DTS and retrieve all the data over an ODBC-connection. This is very simple, but since it is Microsoft's, not very stable. It works... That is all I can say. Retrieving the data at night is crucial (network/performance) so that is why I wanted to have this...
Turkbear and Sem, you might be right that a dblink would be a more prefered solution. The bottleneck btw is the network (I Think). 3million records takes 4 hours.. And that is only 1 table.
Is it simple to setup a dblink without problems ?? In our old situation (Oracle7) it caused several...
Hi all,
I am dealing with an interesting problem. We have an Oracle 817 database in the UK and an Oracle 817 database in Holland. These two databases are completely independant from eachother.
How do I retrieve data from the db in the UK and insert it into our (Oracle) database without setting...
L.S.
I have a list which is an unwanted list. Where / how can I delete this list ??? Because of escalating problems, our OTM does not work anymore and I must teach myself (based on the internet) how to program stuff manually. Second question, anyone knows good resources for this (with examples...
Dear all,
