Hi there,
We have recently switched from an on-prem Mivoice phone system with physical MITEL handsets to a MiVoice Business cloud solution and MiCollab softphones
Our contact centre have reported a strange issue where they call a destination and almost always the call is answered by an IVR...
Ok, after much research it seems it is only possible to achieve single sign on with AFP if you use a 3rd party product installed on your Windows server such MacIP Server or Group Logics ExtremeZip.
Recently the PA to our MD left the company and since then whenever people send meeting requests via Outlook to the MD, they receive an undeliverable message back from the Exchange server, saying that the PAs account does not exist:
Subject: Undeliverable: Updated: Meet with Becky @ Borders to...
Hi,
We have bound several Macs to the Microsoft AD domain. One of the reasons for doing this was to achieve a single sign-on environment. ie no need to reautenticate when connecting to one of the file servers etc.
The problem we have is that when we attempt to connect to the Win2003 fileserver...
We do a merge to get data into Word to print labels.
As this is a mailing list there are loads of pages.
The problem that we have and have had for several months is that if we specify a page range to print, the print job never comes out. Only if we print a page at a time does the job come out...
Hi,
I had Acrobat & Distiller 5 running on a Windows 2000 Server, however that server has been taken offline and as we need to continue running Distiller for another couple of weeks, we installed Acrobat Pro/Distiller 7 on a Windows 2000 Professional PC. I've installed the required joboptions...
Hi,
Does anybody have any experience of Macs that are bound to an Active Directory and how they print via print queues setup on a Windows 2000 Server ?
Since our Macs have been bound to the AD, the Macs can now see the print queues however I get get cannot connect to Samba host errors when I...
Hi,
Just to complete this post....I used the Microsoft Printer Migrator and all my queues are now on my new server just like they were on the old one and they all work fine !
Very useful tool.
Hi,
I have a bunch of print queues on a Windows 2000 Server and instead of setting them up manually onto out new Windows 2003 Storage Server, I wondered if I could use a migration tool to migrate them safely ?
I have looked at the Microsoft Printer Migrator 3.1 and it looks like it should do...
Hi,
About 4 or 5 years back, I joined a publishing firm as an IT support person and one of the first things that I was asked to look into was a problem wherby if a user ran a broad search query on our Windows 2000 Server, it would have an adverse effect on the other users connected to the file...
Hi,
We have lots of Macs using MS Office 2004 and reguarly experience the error above when saving Word documents to a network share.
The user are using OSX and they are connected to the Win2K fileserver via AFP.
The problem is intemittent though.
I have seen so many threads/posts on the...
Hi,
Have binded a couple of Macs to our Active Directory domain which means that we can now log into the Macs using our domain credentials, great!
One thing I'm unsure about however is I thought that by doing this it would create a single sign-on environment so that when I wanted to connect to...
Hi,
I have a problem wherby my Intel Macs running OSX 10.4.8 are unable to change their AD password from their Mac. They get the message to prompt about expiry when they have tried logging onto the fileserver using their domain credentials but when they fill in the Change Password details, it...
Thanks to paella33, unchecking the 'Allow authentification from any domain....' now allows me to log onto the Mac using my domain credentials at the oSX LoginWindow.
Thanks.
O.K. further to this I have been onformed by our infrastructure team that in the UK we have one domain but this is a child domain of an AD forest *the root is in New York) which is comprised of many domains.
But when I see our Windows users logging onto their machines they are logging onto the...
erm, I think we have the one main domain with some sub domains in it ?I'd have to get that confirmed.
The users in the UK log onto a domain called 'IT' which os part of the main domain which is called something else.
The OSX LoginWindow just 'shakes'.
Out of curiousity, I tried a 3rd party product by Thursby called ADmit Mac and it worked fine. Joined my machine to the domain and I was able to log on using domain credentials.
But using Apples Directory Access plugin I can only get the computer account...
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this query but here goes. Recently, I managed to BIND my Apple MacBook Pro laptop to our Microsoft Active Directory. The computer now has a computer account in the Workstations OU.
Once the computer was bound to the domain, I was then expecting...
WhoKilledKenny, thanks so much for your suggestion, I can confirm that turning this option on, now allows us to ping our Macs by their hostnames.
Along with filling in the Macs DHCP client id field in both the DHCP and DNS servers are happy.
Hoorah!!
Thanks again for this valuable advice.
