I am seeing here in the NW that companies are asking for MCSE and CCNA. I think they are asking for more now that the economy is in the toilet. They are trying to get one for both jobs.
So I am going to work on MCSE (one test at a time)MCP,MCSA,MCSE.
Is any one else seeing that?

You don't need to run RIP to route 2 directly connect networks. Just turn on IP routing. I bet your problem is running a class C address as a class B. Also a class A as a class B. I am not sure but I think in this case you need to be "classfull".

1) Read the question, read the answers.
2) Read the question again eliminate wrong answers.
3) Read the question again determine answer.
(Why this and NOT that, etc.)
4) Read the question again double check everything.
(take your time)
5) Select answer and move on.
I bet those of you that did...
Hi,
I am thinking about creating an online Cisco Lab. This would include at least 5 routers, 2 switches and a telco simulator (For ISDN & Frame).
You would have a network drawing (html)and console to all devices via a terminal server.
Is this something you'd find helpful?
Thanks,
Tom Whaley
I have been working with Bay/Nortel equipment for almost 3 years. The equipment (hardware is ok) but the support is so-so. Optivity is bad.
I went to the new 9x class 18 months ago. Optivity has never worked correctly.
I started speaking with a guy the last week about why I can get some...
I think you should have stayed the course. I have one week left in the academy and passed my exam with a 956 last week. It was an excellent class! I know it's not cheap but well worth it!
In my opinion there doesn't seem to be any real shortcuts on this.
Good luck!
Tom
I just passed my CCNA last week. There is ONE chapter of Net+ in my CCNA books. It is obviously much easier to pass. I would do Net + first. I am looking to take the test (Net+) tomorrow if possible.
Personally I can only think of 2 things that will guarantee passing the test.
1) Know the material.
2) Take your time and be extremely detailed in taking the test.
I took the Cisco Network Academy course and crammed for 90 minutes before the test a week ago and did very well...
Good Luck!
I took a Prometric and could not go back. I did not get any easy questions. It was hard. You could change your answer but not after movning on.
I still managed a 956!
Good Luck!
Tom
Thanks!
There is still a lot of hard work to do for those 6 figure incomes. CCNA is only the beginning of Cisco and networking if thats all you have. I have spent years learning the details of networking and probably will spend alot more time!
Granted there may have been more money at entry...
I was talking with a potential employer and had informed them that I was near the end of my Cisco Network Academy class and was going to take the test soon.
Although interested they seemed to be very slow to respond. Sometimes it was only a one way conversation it seemed.
I e-mailed the guy...
I used the new books from the Cisco Network Academy
ISBN: 1-58713-025-4 & 1-58713-029-7
Great books....
Sybex was not logically laid out comparitively and was too much info. My instructor told me many time that some of the info was CCNP. Now that I have started the switching for CCNP I can...
Mike S,
I agree...I wear many of those hats! I found out a long time ago my job was everything no else is getting done plus my job. (If I could only get the pay for 3 people)
Tom
Hi,
I did get a solution. It involved getting a memory dump and looking into certain fiels and telling Nortel what it was. Then they could tell you what it is. It was long involved and looked like a true pain. I am glad I rememebered.
Sometimes you can just hit enter in the password field...
I have a different viewpoint than some. I was a network engineer for 3 years prior to taking the Cisco Networking Academy classes.
What I have found is this:
1) The first semester does a very good job of teaching networking fundamentals in a short period of time.
2) The class prepares you...
