Nevermind, I figured it out.
Solution:
Go into computer management, users, delete the user that was automatically created when then mailbox was created. It will then let you re-create the mailbox.

More than likely yes, especially for programs like word and excel which always store dll files in the boot drive. Of course it is possible to re-assemble all the dll files (among others) into the correct locations, register them and that sort of thing but its more trouble than its worth...

Thank you so much for the suggestion, it worked perfectly and I was able to get the 10 or so GIG of data that I needed off the drive, took forever though because it had to scan through all 300 GIGS.
I would definitely pass along the recommendation for GetDataBack from www.runtime.org...
