Hi,
I have a new computer with Windows 7 Live Mail on it. I received 4 separate emails, each with 1 photo (all from the same person). When I try to Save As it prompts me for the location to save it, but the only "type" is Attachment with the ".att" extension. If I go to the top and click File...
Yes, I get that. I just don't know what other file there could have been, thus the reason for this entire thread. I never saved it anywhere else (knowingly), nor did I edit it after I emailed it.
The only possibility that I can think of is that maybe the computer restarted without my doing it...
Good question, but I did not have any thumb drives connected.
Really? Have you read my posts in this thread?
I created the file last Wednesday and went to Save As | committee-info.doc in: My Documents/Committee/committee-info.doc.
Thursday morning I opened Word, selected committee-info.doc...
I don't know how I can make it any more clear. I DID save from within Word. You must not have read my posts. Do you mean because I didn't do "File|Save As"?
It wass checked and set for every 10 minutes. I did a search for *.wbk files and found none.
However, according to the Microsoft...
Hi,
I tried all of the suggestions for searching for copies of the file, but did not find the one with the entire contents, so I must have inadvertently overwritten it (merged changes from one to another), although I never saved the file under any other name, in any other location.
I might...
I'm not expressing myself very well today. :-)
I did not make changes after I emailed the message. I just opened the email (and the file that I attached to that email) that was in my "sent messages" folder, just to see what was actually sent ... because I've had problems before.
I'm not using any floppy disk nor did I edit anything in an email.
What I meant was that I clicked on the disk icon to "Save" rather than go to "File|Save". If I browse to a directory and open a document, I should be able to edit and just click that "Save" icon, right?
The only thing I said...
I think you misunderstood what I was saying.
I opened the file from the folder where it was originally saved (a directory in my documents folder). I worked on it for 30 minutes or so and hit the save (floppy disk) icon every 5 or 10 minutes.
Then I closed out of Word before sending the email...
Thanks for that info kjv. I opened the file, worked on it, then hit the save button so I thought that it would be saving it to the file that I opened.
I actually closed Word before attaching it to the email because lately it seems I've been getting a popup asking if I want to merge file.doc...
Hi,
Is there any way to recover a Word file after the program is closed? I was working on a Word document and saving every few minutes by clicking on the floppy disk. Then I inserted the document into an email and sent it, but when I checked the file it was missing a substantial part, and when...
Thanks so much Dan. That fixes it.
I know! ... I've been coding that way forever but rarely do web sites anymore. Getting better at coding CSS layouts is on my list of things to do, but since this is for a relative (and free) it will have to do for now.
Thanks again. I really do appreciate...
Hi,
I just downloaded IE8 and see that I how have a page that lost a table margin when viewed in IE8. It was fine in other browsers and does validate.
Does anyone know what the issue is? (There should be about 1/4" of white at the top above the logo and blue double border)...
Thanks vragabond. The double divs does the trick. I just had forgotten that I needed to remove the border from the #anim element. All is fine now in IE6, IE7 and Firefox3. I haven't tested any other browsers yet.
Thanks again!
Thanks for looking vragabond. I think I might be in over my head.
I read that with swfobject version 2:
Do you think this is part of the problem? If so, how can I apply a style to the embed code which I assume is part of swbobject.js? I tried using the following css:
#anim embed...
Hi,
You guys were nice enough to help me sort out a problem I had with borders on a page, and I thought everything was set to go. Unfortunately, I have a new problem that I hope someone's come across before.
I inserted a flash animation using swfobject. (There's supposed to be a 6px wide...
Thank you both. I think I have it lined up now. I had a terrible time getting both the top and bottom lined up. (When I assigned a background color to the left top td, the color showed through the double border, so I ended up applying the top vertical border to the image that's going to the left...
Hi,
I'd be really grateful if someone could take a look at this page and tell me what's causing the problem with the red borders above and below the header. I applied the borders to the (2 side by side) td's. I've set the border-collapse to 0 for tables. In Firefox 3.09 the blue border...
Oh, and I'm not sure where you got the line of "visibility: hidden". I don't think I ever added that, although I did try to set the width and height in an attempt to constrain it vertically as well as horizontally in Firefox.
Like I said, it's working now though!
Thanks again!
