If you are using Photoshop 7 or 8, create the graphic you want, and make sure the background is transparent (you should see the grey/white checkerboard around the object). Then click on File> Save for web That will open up a screen which has transparency dithering options in the top right...

This MIGHT help.... Try converting your fonts to paths before you export to .pdf, or rasterize (convert to image) each page, if you don't need (or want) the .pdf to remain in vector format. -Silverback67-
