Hello, how much $$$ were you wanting to get out of this printer? I have one but the prints aren't perfect. I need one that does perfect photos. Does yours?
Thanks!!
-Reuben
This printer was free so I don't know of it's maintenance history. I was able to improve print quality a bit by adjusting the developer rollers but I might not quite have it perfect.
It prints some graphics quite perfectly, but photos usually look quite dirty. High contrast photos aren't too...
This banding is parallell with the leading edge, and is usually visible in low-density cyan areas (like sky). Some prints have virtually no visible banding.
I'm in the process of checking the developer roller clearance, and I'm noticing that the rollers are totally caked with magnet particles...
-Well I've almost gotten to the bottom of the 007-341 error code. It's caused by the lower inverter motor. Apparently when moving the printer with the lower inverter installed it's quite easy to bend a metal bar into some rollers thereby stalling the motor. That's what happened to mine, and...
Oh no! It's actually code 007-341 I must have remembered it wrong.
I've since unplugged the duplexer and inverter electrical connectors and she's up and running!
Everything seems to work ok, I'm just getting a little banding parallel with the leading edge on certain prints. Some prints look...
I just picked this up last night and moved it home with everything installed. (including the duplexer) Now it's giving error code 007-041 when the larger of the 2 connectors is connected (duplexer?). When it's disconnected, it'll get to 'ready' then say 'load letter' when I try to print a...
That would have saved me much exploration into the innards of this magnificent machine if it had worked for me.
The piece of paper was in there really tight, but I got it out. I had to disassemble quite a bit to get in there though. No more jams ever though. Fed over 250 pages reliably...
I eliminated all problems but the total light stripe at the edge, so I have a clean 7.4" wide printing area. I'm very happy with it. I doubt I'll ever put a new printhead in it, (over 325,200 prints!) I'll just use it as it is.
I'm so very impressed by this printer that I will surely buy...
Thanks for the advice, it turned out to be a scrap of paper in the exit preheat sensor. What a pain that was to get out! At least I learned a lot about the inner workings of this wonderful machine!
Now the Phaser is printing, even duplexing reliably, but there's a black bar missing in the...
So, after spitting one page out (the first page I've seen come out of it) the 860dp jammed the second sheet. I pulled it out the front, tearing off a little corner and lodging it in the exit preheat sensor.
I've seen where this sensor is on the exploded diagram, but I have no idea how to get...
Oh, nevermind. I believe I've figured out that both gears are supposed to be missing those teeth. The transfix solenoid wasn't quite hooked onto the cam, so the gear was clicking, and such.
Now it has spit one page out on warmup that has ink splotches on it, and it shredded the second page...
Hello all, I just picked up a Phaser 860dp free yesterday off C/L. She said she thought it was a problem in the transport.
Upon powering up, there are a number of strange sounds, and I have no idea which ones it's supposed to make, since I've never used one of these. It will get to the...
