You should copy the filters from your primary query into the appropriate queries populating the prompts.
Remember to filter the queries populating prompt 3, 4 and 5. Basically the cascading property is a property between two prompts - not the entire report.

You should make three Virtual Directories on your IIS, each pointing to different locations within the Cognos installation location.
cognos -> ...\Cognos\c8\webcontent (e.g. C:\Program Files\\Cognos\c8\webcontent)

First and ReportNet 1.1 MR1 -> ReportNet 1.1 MR3 upgrade in a production environment and then a ReportNet 1.1 MR1 -> Cognos 8 MR1.

By using a Query ref, I reuse the settings made in the original query and group it by order year. Finally I put in a list in the heade showing only the order year.
