Grab something out of a string

Coldfusion "error establishing socket" message ?
On win2003 when trying to cfquery to database (informix) get the "error establishing socket" message. How do I resolve this ? ODBC datasource tests fine, however when adding the datasource to CF admin it will not verify, just get "Error" nothing more. Help ! -
cfexecute limitations with file creation?
Have C program on Win2003. Creates file. Runs great at prompt. When called from cfexecute ( CFMX6.1 ) no file creation. Both CF server and C program on same box. All processes, files, etc owned and run by admin login. Read tons on cfexecute issues, tried everything I can find but will not create...
