Hi James, thank you for your email to my Outlook Acc. Sidekick 98 - Help

Further Sidekick 98 was given away as a cover CD in 1999 by PC Advisor magazine which also said that over 10 million copies of Sidekick had been sold. There must be one or two copies around but snag is nobody is going to upload their email/home address fearing inundation of requests for a copy.

    Sidekick 98 - Help

Scroll down the page re your question to james33 / 22nd march 2021 on latest page (1) and then look for Rich224422 on page 2 and subsequent (which are previous discussions between them). Between them they solved the problems. These lines from their inputs I saved as most important:-MUST run...

Sidekick won't save toolbar changes -- pt deux

Igpiper, if you had read previous submissions to this site you would have ascertained that it is ALWAYS necessary to install Sidekick as an "administrator". See Rich224422 of 15th Jan 2020 and associated from James33. KaraChow

Sidekick won't save toolbar changes -- pt deux

Igpiper as an experiment I changed my toolbar and saved. Then looking in Sidekick programme files there were several changes in addition to sklayout.skw. Under "data" changes were saved in btbbar.bar , clocks.dat, CNFONT.DAT and CRDINFO3.dat. From these I would assume btbbar.bar is relevant...

Qusai43 you have been informed many times that this site has nothing at all to do with Micros Res 3700. If you had done your own homework/ Google you should have found this. Read it. http://www.infinitypos.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Micros-3700-User-Guide.pdf

    Undo, cut, copy greyed out

I've been using SK98 through various incarnations of Windows from 98,XP, 7 and now 10 Pro. I have never had any problems with Windows so I do not think that is the problem. Are you right clicking correctly? If you need to copy, cut a word/ phrase etc you need to select the whole word not just...

    Sidekick 98: Printing labels

James33 ..I saved this text sometime ago from another contributor. This maybe where I got the previous tip from. I don't know if this will fix your INSTALL failure, but a friend who also uses Sidekick 98 upgraded from a WinXP system to a Win7 system. After installing Sidekick 98 on that new...

    Sidekick 98: Printing labels

James33 I have just copied skwlb2.skw to my desktop (not tried that before)and Sidekick opened fully from double clicking. Have you ensured the file is not Read Only in properties? In my Sidekick the Data folder is Read Only but the label file is NOT Read Only as attached. Let me know if not...

    Sidekick 98: Printing labels

Richard9222 I've been using Sidekick 98 from its inception /thru every incarnation of Windows and now using Windows 10 Pro/ 64 bit. Its had its quirks but Tek-Tips advice has kept it successfully running. (As an aside if you are going to use alongside a web browser open Sidekick first, then the...
