In fact there exists some database systems that can use the cube operator in their SQL version. For example with MS SQL Server in the corresponding T-SQL.

    Cube-Operator exisiting

Hallo together, I have one short question. Is in PostgreSQL something like a CUBE-Operator existing. According to the manual there is nothing. But perhaps I didn't find it. If not, what would be the best solution to get the same result. Probably a lot of GROUP BY in combination with UNION...

    Enter connection string

Hallo together, I want to access Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services 2008 from PROLOG. For the SQL Server it is no problem because I can establish an odbc connection and send SQL commands over this and receive the results. But for Analysis Services I can not use ODBC. How could I communicate...

    ODBC connection to SSAS

Thanks for your answer. Until now it doesn't help me. Because the fact is I want to connect to SSAS from PROLOG and there I haven't got the possibility to use such connections strings, but to connect directly to an odbc connection. But I will check this in the PROLOG forum. Thank you so far.

Hallo together, I want to send an MDX query over ODBC or OLEDB to Analysis Services 2008. Is this possible. To the normal database engine I can connect via ODBC and send SQL queries. But there are no command like 'use CubeName;' and it is not possible to send MDX via this connection, right...

    Fehlende Berichte

Thanks for your answer. I think that can really help me. And I'm already in two SAP forums but not in the SAP Community Network, I think. I will join it. First of all I have no particular data in mind. There are a lot of reports and therefore a lot of different data needed.

    Fehlende Berichte

First of all thanks for your suggestions. I'm normally programming in Visual Basic but probably I could learn something about ABAP. But more interesting I find the things about Query reports. As a matter of fact I haven't got authorisation to create queries. But perhaps I can get it. What can...

    Using cmd and Named Pipes

I solved this problem. I had to change the properties of the server. I had to set "Advanced > Filestream Access Level" to Full access enabled. Now I have to check out how to work with the results. I think there will be new problems. We will see.

    Performance Problem from SSAS

As I said. I have no direct access to the server. I can only try to get the maximum out of the excel add-in. But you are of course right. So I posted in the wrong forum. Should not happen again. Sorry.

    Performance Problem from SSAS

My solutions was now separate data import and using the data. The link between is done with an vba macro. So I import the data, take it and copy it to the sheet where the caculation is done. But another solution could have been a stored procedure in the SQL server to pre-select the data on the...

    Performance Problem from SSAS

Oh sorry I forgot to tell: I only have access via network to a specific cube and so I cannot influence MDXs, can I? Because I have no access to SQL Server itsself. Return Array from Function

Your right that helps with the problem. But that was also the reason, why I had (A, v, w) in the text before. Because I tried that already and of course it helps. But why can't it be done via function?

    Return Array from Function

Thanks for your answer. I tried as you suggested but the problem stayed the same. The function should deliver the product of the matrix A with the vector v. I think it should work with SUM(A(i,1:3)*v) because it's the same only in short.
