    Thanks Inbadatthis, I tried all the various speed options but no joy. I think you may well be right about the quality of the usb/serial adapter, it was one of the cheapest off of ebay! I'll buy another and see how it goes, if you have any recommended brand names that would be appreciated...

    Connecting/configuring to a Cisco 2520 router

    I've just bought a Cisco 2520 router off of Ebay. Connecting using Hyperterminal I just get a continuous output of the letter c. ie ccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc etc. Any explanation of why this is happening and what I can do about it would be greatly appreciated.
