Mitigating VoIP issues when QoS cannot be guaranteed across SCN?

Site A: IP Office 406v2 4.2(23), VCM 20, 2x PRI, VM Pro Site B: IP Office 406v2 4.1(15), VCM 20, 2x PRI We have multiple VPN tunnels between the sites using multiple ISPs, however none are of the guaranteed bandwidth type, so we can’t guarantee QoS. Thus, we have some issues with VoIP latency...

    Extending AT&T 50M Ethernet circuit 800 - 900ft.

In a perfect world, we wouldn't be dealing with AT&T. :-) One of the AT&T techs actually mentioned their installer would likely plain fiber optic patch cabling if we contracted them to do the wiring. The thing that concerns me there is there's not conduit/flex tube the entire way - it's mostly...

    Extending AT&T 50M Ethernet circuit 800 - 900ft.

Here's the scenario - we have an AT&T 50M circuit handed off to us on 100M copper Ethernet. It's on us to get this circuit to our data room approx. 800ft. away, where it will connect to AT&T's router, which will break it out into data and a couple PRI's. Obviously, this is way over the 330...

LDAP - Ignore '91' prefix added in line config when matching directory?

We use basic LDAP for name recognition of inbound CID in Active Directory. We also like the '91' prefix set in the line config, so that incoming calls can be double-clicked out of Phone Manager. The problem of course, is that with the prefix, LDAP no longer matches the inbound CID because...

'Forward to 9', or, forward to an external line that I can dial out of

Yes, I know what I'm asking, and yes, I understand the risks - this is a "special request". We used to do this on old PBX's by having '9' as a referral extension and maybe removing a few safeguards. Is it still even possible on newer equipment? IP phones in remote locations give the same...

    D816 + TVS50 - issues after lightning strike - is system toast?

As a matter of fact, I am in the Great Lakes Area (Farmington area). Do you also do programming/installation? Or is this a fairly straightforward swap? Thanks, -Joe

    D816 + TVS50 - issues after lightning strike - is system toast?

Steady power light on D816, flashing power light on TVS50. No working phone sets - they all start to 'light up' then cut out, repeatedly. Phone set not connected to system at time of incident also does this if plugged in, so I'm inclined to think it's the main switch vs. the sets themselves...

    4412D Handset Cord - Avaya Part #

I (we) realize that, but was trying to avoid "just pick one." Maybe you could (helpfully) reply with your favorite source?

    4412D Handset Cord - Avaya Part #

Does anybody know the Avaya part # for the standard length black handset cord for the 4412D+ phone sets? Anybody know a source for decent replacements? Thanks, -Joe

Change DTMF spacing on analog ports?

Yes, port is set for DTMFF. You'd think the fax server modem would have settings for DTMF timing and spacing just like Avaya does for analog trunks, but as far as I know it doesn't...

Change DTMF spacing on analog ports?

IP Office 406v2 4.1(15) with analog ports connected to a Hylafax fax server. Trying to route fax calls using DTMF, but it's unreliable. For example, 4344 is sometimes read as 433, 434, 4333, etc. Hylafax support says the (Mainpine) modem board in the server is sensitive to DTMF spacing and...

VM Pro 4.2(34): Reception/Breakout DTMF Not Working?

Reboot of the IPO and VM Pro server fixed the issue - pretty unexpected actually. I was ready to add a menu for each user in VM Pro as a workaround... Thanks, -Joe

VM Pro 4.2(34): Reception/Breakout DTMF Not Working?

This used to work, but it was recently brought to my attention that it no longer does. Unsure when it stopped working, but it may have been after the upgrade to 4.2? When you press 0 during the greeting, the greeting is interrupted, but then it just sits. Transfer *8 doesn't seem to work...

Office Move: PRI isn't going to make deadline

hairless, based in Southfield, MI mforrence, you're saying i can just hardwire the PRI to the point-to-point at the old location, and at the new location i'll have a PRI? (not like i won't be trying it regardless). It would be nice to be able to do this without leaving any equipment behind...

Office Move: PRI isn't going to make deadline
