Thanks for all the great suggestions. Our system is so messed up that the default auto attendant "welcome to Partner Mail VS" answers and at other times it does not. How can I reset the system so that the Mail VS and the phone system programming are at factory settings?
Partner Mail VS R5.0 has 4 AAs but they answer different lines; they do not appear to provide layering - I don't believe an AA answering 4 lines can then provide callers with a selector option which routes the call to another of the AAs.
