    IIS 7 New Site Question

That will require some dns being set up with an A record pointing at the IP address bound to the website. Once that was setup, if you wanted to restrict it so only the name could be used (i.e not the IP) you could use a host header which is setup from the bindings (iirc).

    IIS 7 New Site Question

I typically delete the default site. Check the bindings, though, this links the sites with the IP addresses on the server. 1 site per IP address or you will need host headers (assuming default ports).

Cisco to Dell Trunking and VLAN Fun

Hi, Got an issue I'm banging my head against the wall. I've hooked up a Cisco 2960 to a Dell M6348 over an etherchannel trunk supporting 2 VLANS. The Cisco switch is happy as larry as far as I can see. DMZ2#show run int po3 Building configuration... Current configuration : 117 bytes ...

for burtsbees, lerdalt, Cluebird, and OzzieGeorge

Congratz :). I'd pick up CCNA Security book and the ROUTE book and see what you feel more comfortable with. You might want more of EIGRP and OSPF etc or you might be slightly sick of them ;).

How is this being accomplished? Outgoing NAT question.

If you have used the public server wizard to create the NAT rules then there will be NAT rules created for inbound and outbound. I'm not familiar with the specifics of your load balancer but the ones we use require the VIP IP address to be used on the loopback adapter of the server. This means...

SonicWall "Possible" SYN Flood attacks; numerous.... Danger??

The the sonicwall is probably being over sensitive. However, it's best to check and as they are from inside you can trace the machines back via IP/MAC Addresses and see if there is anything funny going on.

    Renew CCNP certification

I think that's CCIP for MPLS from memory. I think CCIP covers BGP, MPLS and QOS.

    Cisco Interview Questions

A lot of companies follow this kind of test setup. My current company has a REALLY evil set of development questions and the interviews and exam can take 4 hours and only about 1 in 10 or 1 in 20 pass that get that far and to get that far they've already gone through a phone interview and an...

Max memory issue on PE 2850

Check the bios version, some older bios do funny things with larger modules. Flash it up to the latest and I suspect it will be fine.

    Assigning Private subnets to interface

What model Sonicwall do you have? Have you checked the Zones that the interfaces are designated and any relevent ACLs within the firewall?

    It's been fun

If you are getting a NAT lab in your exam, it's something I almost stuffed up. Know the difference between the extended and basic lists, I got into the habit of using extended during my practice and the exam called for a basic. The config would have worked perfectly but that wasn't the point...

    CCDA

I had a stab at it in April. I have to agree that it is wordy and prone to errors. I found a completely screwed up question that had no correct answer, I almost ran out of time due to the time spent 'making comments' on it. I didn't pass it in the end, but not due directly to that question. I...

    AD deployment to DMZ

If it helps anyone, the scenario is similar to that of the OP on: http://www.winserverkb.com/Uwe/Forum.aspx/windows-server-ad/13807/Cross-forest-authentication-across-a-firewall No solution was presented though.

    Cisco Labs

Just FYI I don't know if this is new or not, but it seems Cisco themselves have started doing virtualised labs for many of their certs. May be worth checking out, I don't know how good they are or are not, but pricing seems reasonable. Main site...

    windows batch scripting help

Hi, I'm by no means an expert in batch, but I think you may need to use the delayed variable expansion. Details can be found at: http://www.robvanderwoude.com/variableexpansion.php I know I've had issues with this in my own batch files when nesting IFs inside FORs. On a second point if...

    AD deployment to DMZ

Hi, Currently I have two seperate domains not related. 1 is deployed on our LAN and another on my DMZ. Due to some new requirements I have had to setup a one-way trust between the two so our LAN user access to the DMZ based servers can be controlled. This has been done and works on my test...

    SonicWall ACL

Hi, you could create an ACL within the Sonicwall firewall section. Set it to discard rather than deny and uncheck the log box and I think that will do the trick.

    Forced Delay in issuing dhcp

My memory of DHCP resilience was to have two serving, one a primary with 75% of your address space and another with 25% so they don't overlap and both issue the same address. How you'd get one to respond first or create delays I do not know.

    Disk Failover Fails

Ignore now. A further investigation and failover test was successful without a problem. We suspect SQL was doing something heavy at the time and kept writing to the disks or something similar at the time the failover happened.
