hey tom, Thanks for the help. i put the code that you had given in the DDE excel example to a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger, but it didnt work. there was a compilation error. it said bad bind variable 'var' bad bind variable 'id' what have i done wrong? what should i do to get this option...- tracyyy
