    Slow burning with a Lite-on SOHW 1633S External DVD writer

    Ive recently been bought a Lite-on external DVD Writer for my laptop. It writes OK but takes about 60 mins to write 1.2GB of data even at 8 speed. This seems to be a little too slow. Any help or suggestions highly appreciated Spec 2.9 Ghz Intel 512Mb Ram 60 GB hard drive Windows XP SP2
