    files not opening

    why when i click on files to open in photshop or try to edit a linked photoshop file, the program opens but the file itself does not?

    EDIT original

    can somebody please tell me why when i go to "edit original" my photoshop opens or appears, but the file itself doesn't open? is there a way i can specify what program to open depending on the file type? (such as having JPegs open in photoshop instead of defaulting to Preview)
