I take it you have mounted the new drive as another volume
if so you will have to use the add name space "long" to this volume to allow long file names (default is dos 8.3).
if you need to restore trustee rights to files the utility tback3 is handy to have

on connection of a HP Ultrium-1 215 external drive
driver cpqscsi.ham reports ultrium is not SCSI 2 compliant
then tries to load it as an aspi device then errors out.
POST does recognise the ultrium.
HP state the device is SCSI 2 and will work...
