additionally, instead of opening internet explorer, open the windows explorer program (start>programs>accessories>windows explorer) or type explorer from the run command. then put the sddress ftp://mysite.example in the address bar. that should open...
to get the windows explorer view just make a windows explorer shortcut and in the properties box add to the path ftp://blah blah. then change the name of the icon to "ftp site" and whalla.
