I inherited some ancient code as part of redesigning a client's website. It is supposed to contact the indexing service on the local machine to search through files in the webroot and return results.
when i initially looked at indexing service, it was not even running, having been disabled at...
yah, tried google, the results i saw that involved https all seemed to center around server farms and/or specifying the machine key, which was why i mentioned those in my post.
we developed a page for a client that returns some results from an SQL table. there is a link to download the results as a CSV file. on the live server, when connected via HTTPS, it throws an error. file downloads fine over normal HTTP.
the annoying thing is, the file downloads fine over HTTPS...
