Paste text into word from excel

Excel mp3 player problem
I have an excel 97 sheet that opens a word 97 document, does a search and replace. When I have an mp3 player open like winamp or sonic the excel sheet stays in a loop. I have plenty of memory, and Hard Drive space. Any suggestions?- ChuckBFL
