DEC (VMS) - MT impact printer!

DEC (VMS) - MT impact printer!
We want to embed control/escape sequences in a text file of labels to be printed on a Mannesman Tally printer. Only one field will be barcoded so we need to switch the barcodeing on and off. Is there an idiots guide which will tell us how to do this? Thanking you all in advance :-)- AlCahol
