I agree that it may not be the best way, but I tried it and like you it worked for me. Sometimes if it works just go with it. Does anyone know of a better way possibly.
The problem seems to be that the hard drive is partitioned into two parts. Fdisk will only recognizes the first part of the drive which is only 23 megs. But will not do anything to the second partition and format only recognized the 23 megs also.
