    Try using a level 6 or level 7 grade cable. Both are available from Anixter. Also even a CAT5e cable would be better, since cat5 is no longer recognized as a standard.

    just to add to Mercenary, All fiber should be ran in innerduct to protect from the knowing and the unknowing.

    Try setting a standard that the port on the patch panel matching the port on the hub. This is done very easily with certain electronics.
