It would take ages to reinstall all my Software. I'm trying to avoid it and the keyboard is the only problem that I have left after doing the upgrade.

I see the UK Input Language in the left hand column but the Keyboard Layout/IME in the right hand column is set to US and I cannot change it. If I click the Properties box it only brings up four alternatives...
I'm sure that I did set the System Locale to UK and I am logged in as the Administrator. I have the rights to make the change but the option to do so just isn't there. I thought I might be able to add it in using Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup but don't think I can.
Thanks for your suggestion. Both of these options in Regional Settings are set to English (UK). I was careful to select them at Set Up, because Ive been bitten too in the past.
I have just upgraded my PC from Win98 to Win2K Pro since when I can only get a US Keyboard. This is a bit of a nuisance as I live in London and need a Pound sign and other UK characters.

Another reason for rebooting, that I've come across, is running a resource hungry Graphics Application and there is not enough RAM to cope. One way to test this is to try to copy a large amount of data, say 400 Mb, from a CD to the HDD and see if it falls over. One solution is to slow down...
