It is the DNS server indeed. I did not set the reverse address. Add it and it works like magic only take less than 5 min to get the logon screen :P.

I got this syndrom with win2k server.
It is so weird, it tooks about problably 2-3 hours to go to login screen.
I suspect the DNS server, but nothing I can think of that can fix this problem. And also probably because my 3rd party firewall ?? but isnj't the firewall only activate after it login...
I got the same problem just a month ago. I did 3 things:
1. Go to Control Panel, and System. Then choose "Startup and Recovery" tab. Under "System Failure" you can see "automatic restart". Untick it.

Because it takes so long to know my fix is working.
In win2k server, when it gets into "preparin network connections" it takes very long to get the login screen (takes hours).
Any idea why ? I think can probably coz by the DNS...

I solved the problem, what I did was chagne the motherboard and the CPU. And everything works like magic now, all the gizmos are cranking.
I believe it is the capacitors problem, and I owe 1 big applause for "pentode". Thanks you pentode.
I tried 2 different power supply. And both give the same result.
I changed the motherboard to p3c2000, but some results happends.
Any other advices ??

Sometimes it works like charm, but again the freezing problem occurs.
I checked on the capacitor. And I found 2 capacitors are buldging at the top, but I can't find the article in google...
