    Why is my text always upside-down?

    I think you have starting drawing your line (curve) from right to left direction. Just select the curve with the shape tool (F10) and click on "reverse curve direction" on the tool properties. The text will automaticaly come upside-down. Or make a new curve starting from left to right...

    Corel vs. Adobe... Should I switch?

    I think that Corel Draw is one of the best vector programms with the WORST Help (I mean the Help File). I can never find what i 'm looking for.
