    Thanks Petitpal. I removed all fonts except those loaded with Windows ME. Now PS6 does not lock up when loading. Apparently one of my problems was a bad font. [thumbsup2]

    I have the same problem. PS just locks up on reading fonts while program is loading. I have narrowed it down to a compatibility issue with an HP office jet g55. When I uninstall that...no problem with photoshop. BUT, I don't know how to fix it yet.

    I am having the same problem using windows ME. I hate it. Most often Photoshop 6 locks up when chosing file, open and the thumbnails pop up. That's the end of it. Sometimes though it locks up when the program is opening.
