    Stop flv-container swf buffering

Autoplay is set to false, and I think I'm using an FLVPlayback component (I've just basically imported the video into the swf, nothing fancy). I'm afraid I can't send you a link due to client confidentiality :-( Thanks for the help! Becki -------------------------------------- I was gonna...

    Stop flv-container swf buffering

Hi, We have a swf that plays an flv on the homepage of one of our websites. Unfortunately the site is exceeding its bandwidth because everytime someone arrives on the homepage the flv (at approx 30Mb) is buffering whether they watch the video or not. Is there any way to prevent the video...

    Antonym of Treehugger?

Hi, Does anyone have any thoughts on what the antonym of 'treehugger', 'ecowarrior', 'environmentalist' and similar words might be? I would say it's probably 'normal' (being a crazy treehugger type myself), but I'm looking for something that really describes that extra-polluting...

    Access denied error when saving

Hi, A colleague and I often have to edit HTML files from the shared network drive. He has DW8 and I have DW MX. If I've downloaded the files from where they live on our FTP, he can't save changes in DW to the file on the shared drive, and if he's downloaded them then I can't save changes back...

    'Proper' grammar

I've just started studying Latin and Ancient Greek, and I'm totally puzzled by most of the new grammatical terms that I've been introduced to. Seems that (in the UK at least), the older generations were taught a whole lot more about grammer than I was (I'm in my mid-twenties). We basically did...

    'Green' but not green

LNBruno, it's mostly office-y kind of things but not just office-y... hope that's not too vague? -------------------------------------- I was gonna take over the world but got distracted by something shiny

    'Green' but not green

Thanks for the suggestions so far. We're starting to think along the lines of seeds/seedlings/sprouts as a kind of 'growing plant for the future' idea, as we'd like the emphasis to be on moving forward into a new era of 'greenness'!. We were also thinking of something with 'envi' for...

    'Green' but not green

Sha, I think the emphasis is on office/business but it's quite generally about being 'green'... Great ideas so far, shrub cuddler made me smile (thanks rjoubert!) -------------------------------------- I was gonna take over the world but got distracted by something shiny

    'Green' but not green

I know you are all good with words (that'll be why you're in this forum!), so can any of you think of good words meaning 'green', as in environmentally friendly, but not actually having anything with the word 'green' itself? We're trying to come up with clever and snappy names for a project...

I'm fine thanks. How are you?

Sha, I've had this happen to me too, although mostly it's when I've said 'hello' instead of 'hi' - maybe 'hello' sounds a bit like 'how are you?' when that's what you're expecting to hear...! Maybe people really have stopped listening. At my place of work, people will ask 'how are you' and then...

    Mail merge includepicture doesn't work!

Never mind - somehow I've eventually found the right combination of spaces, slashes and quotemarks and it now works fabulously! It's ended up as { INCLUDEPICTURE "C:\\Database\\{MERGEFIELD Pic}" } Thanks for looking anyway :-) Becki -------------------------------------- I was gonna take...

    Mail merge includepicture doesn't work!

...record in a mail merge that I'm doing, using an Access database table as my source data. My picture code is { INCLUDEPICTURE { MERGEFIELD "Pic" } \* MERGEFORMAT } which gives INCLUDEPICTURE "C:\\Database\\OrangeX.gif" \* MERGEFORMAT when I copy it into notepad. If I use the second code (ie...

    Round-the-clock or around-the-clock?

I've just been asked by my boss which of these is correct. I think that 'round-the-clock' is the right phrase to use for what he wants. Anyone care to discuss the difference? :-) I know you lot love a good discussion!! -------------------------------------- I was gonna take over the world but...

Can I fill in an Acrobat 6.0 form in Reader?

I think I may be confusing myself :-( I've created a form with text fields and checkboxes in Acrobat 6.0. I thought I would be able to fill in this form in Acrobat Reader, save it and send it, but it doesn't work in either my Reader 5.0 or I.T.'s Reader 7.0.8. What have I done wrong? Or can...

    Despatch or dispatch?

One of my colleagues asked me what the difference is between 'dispatch' and 'despatch'. Having Googled it, it would appear that the 'i' is generally US spelling and the 'e' is generally British English spelling. Does anyone know? Becki -------------------------------------- I was gonna take...

    Good Book Suggestions

Anyone read 'His Dark Materials' trilogy? Despite them being books for adolescents (at least that's where they are in my local bookshop), I found them really entertaining - better than LotR, and that's saying a lot coming from an ex-Ringer! And now, really childishly, I want my own daemon ;-)...

A Subject Close To Our Hearts

We did handwriting exercises at school (lines of joined up 'o's and 's's) but the style of handwriting I was taught is not really that pretty. I like the French handwriting style myself, all those looped 'l's and 'h's. Incidentally my chickens have perfect handwriting ;-)
