Hi Duane,
No, Compact on Close is not set.
Yes, there is a reason the database is not split.
We inherited many databases.
The manager is not ready to make changes now.
I hope we will do it in the future.
As of now, the database will not be split for some time.
Thank you.

Hello,
I have a database on a Shared LAN folder.
It has tables, queries, forms, reports, macros and modules - it is NOT split into back-end and front-end.
I found that a copy of the database is created by itself with suffix added to the database name periodically, ex. "MyDatabase[highlight...
Hi Remou,
thanks for your reply, however I didn't get your suggestion.
I use Open Form Event, you suggest to use Load instead.
Isn't Load Event occurs after Open Event?
My original question was:
MS Access saves FILTER property from the last use of the form. How to disable it?
Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I allow users to filter data in a form.
When I open the form in Design View mode the FILTER property stores the last used filter string.
I used the following code on FORM_CLOSE event
Private Sub Form_Close()
Me.Filter = ""
Me.FilterOn = False
DoCmd.Save acForm...
PHV,

I want to allow a user to connect to an User-Level Secured DB without specifying the password every time. User specifies the password (which is stored in MDW-file) in the beginning of the Session. I don't think it is a good idea to ask the user for password again, since he/she...
Hello,
Does anybody know how to connect to a Secure DB (User-Level Secured) using ADO as a current user?
The problem is: I can get the user's ID, but I cannot get the user's password that is necessary to set Connection to the Secure DB.
Any help appreciated.

Hello everyone,
Does anybody know, how can I use temporary tables on local (client) machine (could be linked to a MDB-file on local machine) in a Project (ADP) file?
The reason is - to store temporary data on Client machine to reduce traffic for data that are not changed often.
I tried to...

Hi jrbarnett,
thanks for your response.
I did my own research as well and I found another way (I believe easier way, though it is not free) to convert DOC-file into JPEG-image.
The software name is “docPrint” (http://www.verypdf.com/artprint/index.html). You can run it as a command line (use...
Hello everybody,
does anybody can suggest a good book or other source to learn MS SQL Server 2000?
I need to upsize MS Access back-end database to MS SQL Server 2000.
The front-end part is still going to be MS Access.
Any experience appreciated.

Hi Cmmrfrds and Zion7,
thanks for your responces.
It works!
I also checked the link provided by Zion7.
It is great that I can run queries with ADO-wildcards in MS Access by using operator ALIKE instead of LIKE.
Thank you very much.

Hi everyone,
does anybody know what wildcard should I use to run query in ADO to substitute wildcard "?" (Any single character).
I use character "%" to substitute wild-card "*" (Zero or more characters).
What about wildcard "?" (Any single character)

Hi TheAceMan1,
sorry for delay.
I am using MS ACCESS 2003 SP2.
I have not imported everything into a new DB (lots of work to do to set permissions for each object for each User Group) yet. However, if the problem raise again then I will try.
Thanks.

Hi everybody,
I have an action (update) query that gives me error
I found that if I change property USE TRANSACTION to NO in MS Access interface (Database Window), then the error disappears.
However, when I try to execute the same action query in ADO using COMMAND object, then ADO doesn't...
Hi MajP,
exactly,
I think it should stay, however not all the time.
I tried to rebuild the form.
It worked for the first 8-9 times, as it suppose to work.
Then it started to return not empty recordset, though the recordset property is empty, when I open the form.
I believe I found a solution...
Hi ChanceD2,
sorry for late response.
No, there is nothing in [Link Child Fields] and [Link Master Fields] properties.
It looks that MS Access stores the last query used by property [Record Source] even though the property [Record Source] of the form is empty by the time when I open the form...
