hey it will generally occur attimes, when the physical RAM is full RAM is full and it just tries to shift all that inactive data to the virtual memory to run the latest active windows.so sometimes it happens like that, this can be avoided most of the times if you have good amount of RAM.

ingeneral according to microsoft, the thumb rule is that the virtual memory should be fixed at value 1.5 times greater than the real physical RAm, you understand na,
ex: for 128 MB ram, it will be 192 and like that
