Yeah, fair point. Is it going to be a problem bringing a new Exchange Server in to the equation and then removing the old one?

Because I don't want three DC's. The new Ex2003 will not be a domain controller. If you don't demote then the whole AD starts looking for the DC.

I believe this is an IE problem. I had the same on a DEV server sometime ago. Never could fix it and then splatted the server. Try running the latest IE to see if that works on one of the clients.

When you say it won't start what exactly do you mean? Have a look in the logs and find out what service isn't starting.
