We use Trend Micro's product (www.antivirus.com), but if I recall correctly, we're not supposed to scan in real-time. I don't if that's the "mystery" product you're talking about, but Nortel has OK'd it.

Wouldn't it be nice to get training once in awhile! :) This is the same type of issue I dealt with while using Agent/TAPI. I was having to bounce the server to do exactly what you're talking about. I know (assume) there must be a better way, bu t unfortunately, I don't know what it is...
Our Network Engineering folks came to me today asking if I could explain why there was network chatter coming from my Netbrite boards and hitting the firewall.
The address it keeps trying to send to is 10.54.113.192 which is (and never has been) on our network. It doesn't match the sub network...
if you're talking about error codes found in the event browser, just pull up the help topics in the event browser window and do a search on event codes - there are a ton of them listed.

We've had it for a few years now and have NEVER used it. It resides on a nice fat server too. What a waste. I'm sure someone else will tell you how great it is, but not us.
Do you have a particular need that you're hoping to meet by using it?

have you tried accessing the folder via the command line as opposed to windows explorer? if not that, maybe through safe mode? if not that, made through recovery console? not sure if any of those will work, but something to try at any rate. also, have you tried with your b account as opposed...
There are a lot of variables in your question. It depends on which security patches you're installing. It depends on what kind of environment you've set up on your PC. It may not be the patches themselves, but the patches when combined with something else you've installed (say Norton...
I think the consensus today is that you should run both a hard (router) AND soft (ICF) firewall. ICF is rather limited though, but it IS built-in (free) after all. I'd look at a third party solution (ZoneAlarm, Trend, McAfee, etc.)

Anyone try to setup some way to have reports automatically emailed to someone? We're on SCCS 4.0/4.2 - I don't THINK there's anything built into the client to be able to do this. Wondering if anyone has rigged up some other way of doing it. If it IS built in the client, all the better, but I...
if there are other forums for info on nortel, I haven't found them. i'd be curious to know too. this SEEMS to be the only thing going.

well, came across another post in the forum that indicates the 3.0ghz seems to be some new threshold that causes a problem. apparently the version i'm on works fine if you're on a "slower" P4, but not on the faster. wish i had a 3.0ghz so i could "suffer" along with you. :)...
i'll use the 'teach a man to fish' approach first and tell you that the historical reporting and data dictionary found in the meridian electronic reference library (MERL) or on the SCCS docs disc is a good resource for answering this type of question.
Now to answer your question...(taken...

it is definitely port blocking. we had a bunch of ports locked down during a virus crisis. we started getting those errors even on our internal LAN (if you had to cross a router to get to the server). they recently opened the ports back up and that eliminated the problem. i know ONE of the...
they're on the corporate lan, but you might be on to something. i am here in the same building as the server and have no problem. they are from a different building, but still on the same lan and all have the problem. i wonder if it has something to do with the router through which they're...
it'd be helpful if you explained "how" the activity codes aren't working. what are you doing to set them up, what are you doing to use them, how are you determining that they aren't working.

oh! that's gonna be a problem for sure. i'm already having to jump through hoops just to get one unlocked. hmmm. good reason to move to webclient? (assume it works through port 80 which IS open).

fonchick is right in that it's really an operations issue.
problem with return to queue and make set busy is that you could be knocking out agents in the middle of the day with that enabled.
while there isn't a way to remotely disconnect an agent, you could schedule assignments so that at 8pm...
