I tried this and it did restore my palette, when i put my custom layout back, it started to happen again so it must be a faulty configuration setting and I shall have to start again by the looks of it.

If you have the CMYK Simulation turned on and want the jpeg to be the same, make sure you select cmyk jpeg option when exporting, this will reproduce the on screen colours.
I have a custom pallette and have set this to default, for 2 years i had no problem, but now, without installing or de-installing anything, when i start the program up there is no pallette at all and i have to load it up.
