Are Seagate & HP DDS4 drives compatible?
HP and Seagate DDS4 drives are supposed to be compatible. Was the backup set that you are trying to restore backed up with XP backup also? If so, you may need to "Import" the media before you can restore it. -

Highly compressible files can give you more than a 2:1 compression ratio. 4:1 is extremely unusual, though and I don't have a lot of faith in NT backup either. If the drive came with backup software, I'd try using that just to be sure. Tapeware and Backup Exec both work well with DDS. Of... -
29320 SCSI card in a 32 bit PCI slot causes SCSI ID issue.
My customer is reporting that when using an LTO tape drive connected to 29320 card that is plugged into 32 bit PCI slot...the SCSI ID automatically changes to one number higher as shown in Device Manager on Win2003. For example, if the drive's jumpers are set to SCSI ID 0, it will show up as ID...- kinetic7
