Are Seagate & HP DDS4 drives compatible?
I've been using a Seagate DDS4 drive for some time and have many tapes, however recently it broke down. I've repaced the drive with a HP DDS4 C5683, which appears to have been a mistake! The HP will backup and restore new data perfectly, but it will not read the old Seagate backups properly...
