    Modem makes clicking sound

    I have a Dell 4100, 1Gh with a 56k internal modem. I have noticed lately when I am online, the modem will make clicking sounds. It doesn't affect my online operation, but the sound just started and am curious as to what the problem is.

    USR 56k modem connects at 9600

    Have connected a USR 56k modem for remote dial up access into our RS6000 using AIZ 4.3. Am told that I can only set tty port speed to 9600 and the modem is set at 9600. Does AIX not support a higher baud rate? If this is true I might as well keep using our Practical Periphals 14.4 modems...
