Solution, eventually, was to ensure that dreamweaver is open before trying to install anextension.

I have dreamweaver 4 installed, and have added the extension manager. But when I try to install an extension it refuses, saying I need dw4 or higher!!
Any ideas anyone?
With a list of tasks it should be possible to reorder them. Click and drop is supposed to work. In View/detailed list I can, but in View/simple list I cannot.
I feel sure that drag and drop used to work ok. I think the problem may be the result of upgrading from IE 5 to 5.5 with various security...
