I have been trying for over one hours now to get one singular M2616 to work on a digital line card. I have enabled and gave it a TN, but it refuses to power up. Is there a specific loop that I need to use for slot 1?

I want it (for now) to be an external VM access number. You call the number, and it answers “Meridian Mail, Mailbox?”

I'm assuming that you have Meridian Mail working?. If so, then you need to access MM first to find out what Voicemail DN's exist.

On the Option 11 system, go to LD 23 and print off the ACDN. Many configurations used the DN range 7000 onwards and its usually 7000 as the main messaging DN and 7001 to 7004 were application DN's.

You need to look on Meridian Mail to see if the same DN's exist.

If so, then change your trunk so that it's set to ATDN to one of the Mail application numbers.

You might need to change the RDB in LD 16 so that it auto terminates and allows ATDN to appear against the trunk in programming.

As your knowledge on Telephony is basic, I would suggest that you refer to some good websites such as ghtrout.net and https://pbxbook.com/

It's difficult to carry on assisting you when very few of us haven't worked on these old systems or even seen a working one for a long time.

I'm not sure what your intentions are, but the Telecoms market has changed in recent years.
