Hello,

in Excel is there a way to return the number of instances a character is present within a cell?

i.e. how many comma's are in a cell.

thanx for any suggestions.

Cheers,

Roel

Hmm, actually thought of the answer as I was submitting that post:

=LEN(RC[-2])-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(RC[-2],",",""))

Cheers,

Roel
