Does anyone know some good reference materials for vbscript including links, books, etc.
We have a couple new players on our team that we need to get up to speed with this.
There are a MASSIVE number of articles and scripts available from this site. Also, pretty much every article and tutorial I've read on the MS site is written well. The don't feel like technical articles when you read them but give more info then most of the technical books I have purchased.
If you yearn for a bit over 1000 pages of dead tree then I would recommend picking up the MS 2000 Scripting Guide. Yeah you can pretty much read it online from the link above but I like having a good solid reference and how-to book. There is a CD in the back with a searchable exectronic version along with various handy files. Like patches, tools and such. The VBScripting tutorial in the front is very good too.
VBScript in a Nutshell is a MUCH smaller reference book that I started with but MS Tome is about all I use now since it might be huge but it reads well.
I guess if you want to be cheap the link is the way to go. If you want a book that covers pretty much everything, with examples, then I'd higly recommend the massive MS scripting guide.
Oh, if you want to see some of the spiffy stuff you can pull off with scripting go to the link I posted and search for "Scriptomatic Tool". Its quick, easy, and shows a goodly number of interesting things you can do with scripting, at least on the admin side.
