For some reason i cant create a hyperlink from one directory in the server to another in excel. I used to be able to do this and now it wont let me. It saids that it is an invalid address. Weird thing is i am able to create a hyperlink in the same directory and it works fine but not in any other...

No, i dont have a spare machine. I can try disabling the network antivirus and see if that is the cause or adding my home laptop to the domain network and see if i get the same error on the laptop.

thanks for those links. i downloaded the microsoft update and it seemed to fix the 3019 error code but i still get the 6004. I did a NIC driver update to see if maybe that was the issue but still same problem.

by the way, along with 6004, i also get 3019 error. "The redirector failed to determine the connection type". I think they are connected in some way. Microsoft knowledge base saids no user action reuired for this error.

Thanks for those links but they did not work. I did a clean boot, checked startup programs, checked for unsigned drivers, restarted in safe mode with networking capability and still got the error.

Im running Panda Antivirus with tru-prevent on the server and panda clientshield on the workstations.

I looked through those links and check the mac address and they are entered correctly. Microsoft links never give the right info i need.

Oh, one more thing..........I get the error codes whenever a mapped network drive is accessed.

I am getting eventID 6004 on all my XP machines connected to the network. They only come up when i access a mapped drive on the domain. The error reads "a driver packet received from the I/O subsystem was invalid. the data is the packet" what does this mean? Is there a fix? thanks

I am trying to setup remote desktop so that i can access the server and workstation from my laptop at home. I can access everything fine when i have my laptop connected to the domain so i know that remote desktop is correct but i cant access the domain or anything else connected with the server...

i ran that ssasser tool from symantec but it came up with no worm found. so...........the problem still exists.

anyone know a resolution to these events? I read through the microsoft knowledge base but i need something written in english not techaneese. I first get 5603 from winmgnt 2 times in a row 1 second apart and then i get 2003 from perflib a second after that. The 2003 server has been restarting...

any input?
