I'm working on a old file server that was tied to a domain that is not operational any longer. While Attempting to change ownership of the files I'm hit with a repetitive "Click Yes" to continue while forcing the ownership change. I was wondering if there was a tool that can be applied to force...
Hi
I'm building an RDC (Read Only Domain Controller) for one of our offices. I would like to have that server also become the DHCP server. Can this be done all on the same box or are here limitations to running AD services and DHCP together?
Thanks

I'm having the same problems. After 10 years of following the same methods of sharing and applying access rights none of this seems to work in WIN2008R2. It is quite a drawn out procedure to secure folders.
I'm really unimpressed with how they have done this.

Hi
But let me ask you this: have they made changes to the way they are administer since 2003 Server?
It seems that when I set up a Share permission it becomes a file it drills down into the sub folders.
For example. I have a top level folder that is shared to everyone but I would like to...
Hi
I'm having a problem understanding file sharing and folder permissions on 2008. I'm experienced with working operating systems from NT 4.0 to 2003 so when I started setting up our only 2008 file server I was taken back by some of the changes they have implemented.
In this case I have a top...
Actually, a little digging and I found this solution. It worked perfectly.
RMTSHARE \\servername\sharename$ Grant domain\Administrator:Full
Working with a share list I dumped it into Excel, tidied it up then created a CMD file. . Took 5 seconds and 100 shares were fixed.

Hi
I have recently installed BE 12.5 on our Win2008 Srv. I have to back up an older Windows NT server. This version of BE no longer supports agents for NT. Is backing up the Shares the only option?
Thanks

Hi
I have a server that has a whack of shared folders. I would like to add the administrator account to each of them. The previous admin only allowed user accounts with Full Control. Is there a command line tool that i can use to do this? I have tried subinacl but is does not work on NT 4.0...
I have a user who has Office 2007 configured to a way he likes it. We are planning to move him to new hardware. Is there anyway to export save his current settings so they can be easily applied to the new installation of Office?
Thanks
I recall that there was a way to save your Office settings in case you had to reinstall the package and did not want to reset everything to your liking.
Anyone on how to do this?
thanks

Hi
I have a user who has experienced a very strange problem. For some unknown reason his Sent Items are now missing a lot of email between 2005 and June 2008. The user has confirmed that he has not deleted anything. He's not the type, low maintenance user.
Archive settings are off, no...
Hi
I have been looking all over the place for this driver. It is the only yellow flag on my rebuilt system. The chipset is a 945GV. I have downloaded everything I possibly can from the Intel site but nothing seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
