I've done the installation, but only after blowing away the old NB version. It then allows me to choose where I wish to put the installation.

I'm not very versed in Unix. This project was rammed down my throat by my supervisor who wants me to 'figure it out' I'm getting frustrated because the NB Manual doesn't tell me much on doing this.

Hello all, I'm trying to install NB 6.5 onto a Unix HP-UX box. After I run the install, it keeps telling me that it needs more space in the /usr/openv directory. When I answer 'n' to the prompt and put in the path where I want it to go, according to the NB Unix installation manual, it just ends...
Hello all. Alright, I created a Raid group, created some LUNS and added them to the NAS. Once there, I did a rescan so that the drives would show up. They showed up okay but when I went to create a couple of volumes, it wouldn't let me. Thinking I did something wrong, I wanted to re-do the...
Hello, I'm moving data from a server to our SAN and I need to be able to edit 580 user's home directory paths in active directory. Can anyone point me to a script or send me some commands that will allow me to do this?

Hello all, I'm looking for tools or a method for expanding a volume on a unix-based hard drive. Let me explain what I'm talking about: I have a physical hard drive that's 150 gigs. Currently, I'm only using 50 gigs of it. It's attached to a SAN. I would like to expand the drive to 75 Gigs. The...
Hello everyone. I have just installed ISA server management on my desktop. I can connect to the various ISA servers in my network. When I go to run a query however, it gives me an error that says the server is not responding. I'm working with my firewall guy to see if the problem is with a port...
Hello all. I did this before but I can't remember in what order or with what tools. I remember using ldifde to pull domain stuff from an NT4 box and another to push them to a 2K3 test box. Anyone have any ideas on the best tools to use to:
Pull all of the domain stuff from an existing NT4...
Let me clarify my question. I have TWO datamovers. Let's call them datamover1 and datamover2. I have an ADIC tape library with 4 tape drives in it. Two of the drives are set up for regular backups over a SAN. The other two drives are zoned exclusively for NDMP backups off of a NAS. When backup...
So the engineer was right when he said that simultaneous NDMP jobs are not allowed. Bottom line is, it can't be done.

Well, multiple data streams means that several streams from the same job will write to the drive. I'm told by a Veritas engineer that the simultaneous use of both drives is impossible.

Hello all, I'm currently running a NB 6.0 config. My setup is one adic 100 with 4 tape drives. Two of the drives have been zoned for NDMP backups of the NAS data movers. When running test backup jobs, only one drive is being used, while all other jobs go into 'queue' mode until the job ahead of...
The drives are working now. I just didn't have it set up correctly. Now if I could just get the proper path name so that I can have a backup. It keeps saying that it can't find the path to : /fsol/groups where fs01 is the file system and groups is the directory I want to back up. What should...
What type of NAS Head?
I have no idea
How is the ADIC connected to the NAS Head?
Fibre cables
How is your NAS head configured for NDMP?
I have no idea
Version of NetBackup and what host os?
Ver 6.0 and the host OS is Windows 2k

Hello, I have a NAS unit attached to an ADIC Scalar 100. I set up everything so that my datamovers see the tape unit and vice versa. When I execute a backup on Netbackup using NDMP, I get an error that says the path could not be found. When I go into the NAS management screen, it shows the path...
