Thank you all for your help. even after un update_all on ML5, I still have oslevel -r = 5.3 ML01 I tried to boot on 2 different CDs : 5.3 without ML and 5.3ML4 with same results. I upgarded firmware of target machine to latest but it didn't solve. I have only 1 disk per machine -> no mirroring... -

the boot image is more than 12 Mb big. therefore, I can't boot directly on the tape . I have to boot on a CD and the restore from mksysb. That's how I'm used to do. the restoration of data is complete. (100 %) the problem occurs after. -
