You are absolutely correct,we got these phones 7940 & 7960 from some third party (used ones), how ever your suggestion is really valuable,We realised our mistake...we had really tough time for 3 days, working day & night to make these phones register in Call manager.

How / from where do we download SIPDefault.cnf file to tftp server?
also the files...SIP0006537B9279.cnf,0S79XX.txt,SIPDefault.cnf to tftp server. how do we see the tftp server console?

We saw “Cisco tftp” service has already started & it is automatic.We did not install Cisco TFTP software separately at the installation it have been installed automatically. All the IP phones & call manager are in same subnet (192.168.0.0 network). Our call manager...

We successfully installed Call manager 4.1(2) following the instructions on a Genric PC. Now we are able to see call manager web pages http://localhost/CCMAdmin/Main.asp .
