I am doing just that - matching complaints to CDR's. When I do that, I'm seeing instances where I'm not seeing a "'message waiting clear'; 'Dir: 0'" come out of the CDR log when they check their messages. So it's not even telling the PBX to invoke an MCK from emulated 2616 set on the FLT card.

Some more info. Was able to pull CDR out of the Octel system - and I can see where they're checking messages, but there's no MWI activity. Where should I be looking? Test calls I'm making I can see MWI on/off. So this is a random / intermittent issue. Thanks.

Make sure the PBX ports connected to your Octel system are up and running - and that you don't have more PBX ports than Octel ports in your hunt group. Otherwise, do a port test in Octel to see where the problem may be.

SIP/RTP protocols come to mind. But there are plenty of internet streaming audio applications out there. Best bet is to find a broadcast engineering forum. Those guys will have some answers for you as I imagine you need a turnkey solution that's more or less plug-and-play.

Nortel digital phones typically are good to 3,000 feet. Problem is - most of my copper runs from the PBX to the endpoints are over 2,500 feet (I have a 2700 pair from the PBX to another MDF in the plant that's 2,400 feet then feeds out to the IDF's around the plant). That and it's a 2,000...

Nope - need to run 400 analog lines to a legacy SpectraLink 30000 system over a 2,300 ft span of copper pairs (there's 2700 total pairs - about half in use, about half of what's not used bad/questionable). Plenty of fiber I could use - so rather go that route with some fiber media converters...

What does local code say on the matter. Some local jurisdictions may have fire code that specifies POTS (and only POTS) as your primary then PBX/cell/VoIP/morse code/smoke signals (ha!) as your secondary.
