    IBM BladeCenter Power Problems

We changed all of our PSUs to 2000W less than 12 months ago, because we were buying the newer SCSI blades which pull more power. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    IBM BladeCenter Power Problems

Good question. On the first eight we have redundant without performance impact. On two, we have with redundant power with performance impact. Most of those machines report the problem - regardless of the setting. Two more are set to non-redundant and don't have a problem.

    IBM BladeCenter Power Problems

Hi folks, There's a big star for anyone who can help with this one. We have 12 IBM BladeCenter chassis. All are 8677 variants. Each chassis is fully loaded with blades, modules and power supplies. Each power domain (two PSUs) in each chassis is connected to a different distribution block in...

Upgrading HP SANWorks Management Appliance III

We are currently upgrading our estate to Windows 2003, and some of the servers we don't want to leave behind include our EVA Management Appliances. HP always tell you not to mess about with the OS on their Management Appliances, but we all know that it is basically a Win 2000 Advanced Server...

Problem with IBM Director after upgrade to 5.10

Hi We've just upgrade our Director 4.22 to 5.10, and since doing so, we can no longer connect through the console. All we get is the good old error, "An I/O error occurred while connecting to the IBM Director Server". Has anybody had a similar problem when doing the upgrade? Thanks Chris

    Renaming a cluster node

Thanks for the quick response. I believe clustering is much improved in 2003, and I'm told we could expect performance increases of up to 25%. Do the improvements include the ability to rename a node, though?

    Renaming a cluster node

I believe it's not possible to rename a cluster node, so is the only workaround having to remove the node, format and rename it, then add it back to the cluster? We have recently changed our naming convention, and need to rename all of our cluster nodes as part of the change. All of our...

    Active/Active Or Active/Passive Cluster Help!

Microsoft recommends against using Active/Active clustering for Exchange. In fact, Exchange Server 2000 Standard does not even support it. Only 2000 Enterprise and 2003 will allow it. As stated by mrdenny, you could run an Active/Active cluster with a hot spare. Your other option would be to...

    Windows 2000 to 2003 Active/Passive Upgrade

Hi We have several two-node active/passive clusters, which all run Windows 2000 Advanced Server (SP4). Each cluster hosts a SQL 2000 (SP3) instance for each of our "products". We are planning an upgrade for all of our servers, to Windows 2003, which will include the clustered servers. I have...

Could not retreave user email IDs from teh IPOffice

This is a funny little error. When I've had it, it has been because Usernames have had too many spaces or there have been lots of upper case letters in them. One client of ours loves to change user IDs, so when I set them back to a nice and tidy "J Smith", the errors just faded away. Now...

    Echo

Chances are the the Auto option has used G729a first, as the preferred order is as follows; G729a, G723.1, G711 A-LAW, G711 U-LAW. G729a is great on a WAN, but useless on the LAN, where G711 should be the choice. Depending on your locale, you can play between A-LAW and U-LAW. With G711 turned...

    CCC installation problem

Not sure IIS is the problem here, as this is a client PC. IIS is only used for the Reporting Server. May be worth checking .net though, and downloading the latest version. Has the PC ever had CCC installed on it before? If so, you may still have a DLL which is loading or something. What is...
